Let yourself relax while stepping back in time within the walls of this newly renovated classic 125 year old exposed brick and beam building. At Jakes we serve the finest cuts of Certified Angus and American Kobe beef. Enjoy our cold water Lobster Tails, famous Crab Cakes and fabulous fresh Blue Point Oysters. In addition to our main menu, each week, a Culinary Extravaganza of Specialty Dishes is prepared, designed to satisfy the most discriminating palette. Indulge yourself in our decadent desserts. Visit our classic curved bar for an impressive selection of fine wines, martini’s or your favorite cocktail. Weekends offer live music. Private dining / meeting room in the cellar with full audio visual equipment available.
Jakes Beef
We serve the finest cuts of Certified Angus and American Kobe, Wagyu beef available, aged a minimum of 28 days, hand cut in our kitchen, then cooked to your specifications.
Jakes Seafood
Imported cold water Australian Lobster Tails and Select Oysters. Our Fish is fresh from the boat, never frozen.
Jakes Salad Dressings
We feature as house dressings our own house made Ranch, Maytag Bleu Cheese,
Honey Mustard, Caesar, Blackberry and Balsamic Vinaigrette

Our Desserts are made fresh in our kitchen from our own special recipes.

1904 – B.A. Johnson and Company a gentlemen’s clothing store
1907 - Half of the building was vacant and the other half a barber shop.
The 2nd floor was lodging.
1910 – Owned by a H.A. Hodges
1912 – Grocery in one half and a barber shop in the other.
The 2nd floor was the City Mission
1927 to 1928 – A confectioners store owned by Charles Unis
1930 to 1932 – Acme Sign Studio (Charles Unis)
1932 to 1938 – The Majestic Theater
1938 to 1940 – Vacant
1941 to 1991 - Laves Jewelers (Abe and Isadore Laves)
1992 to 1997 – Jakes owned by William Thornton Group
1998 to 2008 – Jakes owned by Rick Eltife
2008 to Present - Jakes Tyler owned and operated by Alan and Kamla Utz.
